Iphone 7 charging while listening to music.

If I can sync my phone and charge it at the same time through the lightning connector on my PC, why can you not charge and listen to music at the same time through the lightning connector with the Iphone 7? I imagine there is much more data transferring during a sync than just listening to an mp3.
